Flint Mitchell
I am a scientist, engineer, and philosopher on a mission to help one billion people make one value-based decision daily. I believe that if each person identified their current high-priority values (health, responsibility, integrity, etc.) and took one action each day with one of those values in mind, we would have a more compassionate, loving, and efficient world.

After receiving my B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Biomedical Concentration (signal processing of medical signals), I worked for Roche researching novel genetic sequencing technologies, published a book and podcast, consulted for startups, an angel investor, and for CSUEB's Green Biome Institute using bioinformatics to preserve and protect California's rare and endangered plants.

I currently provide private consulting bioinformatics services while I build my company, iAlign, which is aimed toward my above mission statement in a financially viable and ethically responsible way.

My Engineering (and Life) Philosophy
I have a three-pronged approach to identifying and solving problems.
Technical
No serious project can be completed without technical competency. I aim to quickly identify, learn, and implement new technologies.
Emotional & Interpersonal
We overlook the human in engineering. "How would this make you feel?" is just as valuable a question as "Would this make you more efficient?"
Philosophical
The technical skills and potential impact may be clear... but why are we doing this? I believe in taking moments of silence to question if a project is actually aligned with my values and mission.

Men's Group Leader
I lead men in meetings both virtual and in-person to help facilitate support, bonding, and growing with respect to both mental and physical health. Men tend to repress emotions and these discussions establish safe and productive environments for better understanding societally conditioned or personally-imposed limiting or counterproductive beliefs.
